One Saturday, I had lunch in Zucchini's, an elegant fine dining restaurant located along a quiet area of Scout Tuason in Quezon City. We scored a deal for Zucchini's Certified Angus Beef rib eye steak over at Deal Grocer, with the voucher costing only P1,875 for a 550 gram rib eye steak.
I loved the whole ambiance of the place, with its old-world elegance and plush seating. We were the first ones to arrive since we were there for early lunch so the service staff gave us their full attention. Service was really excellent.

We started with Margie's Salad (P250), their house specialty. It's a light salad of greens, cambozola, pancetta, asparagus, crepes and with fried soft boiled egg and maple mustard vinaigrette. The salad was quite good. They also served super hot and fresh bread rolls, which we couldn't get enough of, especially when mixed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar mix.
We also ordered the Baked Bone Marrow (P550). Now, this was something else. We haven't had bulalo cooked this way before. I'm not a fan of it myself (just had a few bites). Nevertheless, this is certainly a must-try for all you bulalo lovers out there.
Then on to the main event. We had our 550 gram rib eye steak cut up and served individually for each of us, both cooked medium. We paired it with arugula pesto risotto and sun dried tomato spaghetti.
The steaks were really superb. Even just posting these pictures is making my mouth water. Certified Angus Beef. Full stop. (I liked the pesto risotto better than the spaghetti though). The steaks were served with a variety of sauces, and we chose the mushroom sauce and creamy pepper sauce.

Zucchini's was a really good deal. Notwithstanding my nutritionist-imposed diet, "cheating" on great steak like this was worth it :) If you like steak or if you happen to be in the Tomas Morato/ Scout area, head on to Zucchini's. You won't regret it.
